Friends of Carter Caves

The Friends of Carter Caves, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to the enrichment and conservation of Carter Caves State Resort Park through education, collaboration, leadership, and service.

What We Do

We LOVE Carter Caves State Resort Park and coordinate fundraising efforts and volunteer opportunities.  Funds are used for park projects that are not covered by the state park system. Friends members also contribute volunteer hours for events and trail maintenance.

Our non-profit, 501 (c)(3) status, also enables us to seek out and apply for grants to enhance the park.

​

A few examples of our volunteer activities:

  • Native Plants Garden

  • John P. Tierney Memorial Garden

  • Junior Naturalist Program

  • Funding for Park Taxidermy Exhibit

  • Support Interpretive Programs with Volunteers and Refreshments

  • Support and Volunteer with the Carter Caves Trail Maintenance Crew

  • Assist with Camper Appreciation Weekend, Winter Adventure Weekend, Pioneer Life Week, Cave-In Movies, and much more!
